“Ocean Blue” – Discover Airlines upgrades A330 cabins

Discover Airlines has announced a full cabin overhaul of its Airbus A330 long-haul fleet, introducing a new cabin concept called “Ocean Blue”. The retrofit will be rolled out across all 16 Airbus A330 aircraft from spring 2027, with the first aircraft entering service in April 2027. Completion of the programme is scheduled for mid-2028.
At the centre of the upgrade is a completely new business class product. The cabin will feature 30 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access from every seat, a long-awaited change that significantly improves comfort and reduces sleep disruption on long-haul flights.
The most premium seats are the new Business Class Suites located in the first row. These suites feature sliding doors approximately 1.20 metres high, creating a noticeably more private environment compared to standard business class seating. Each suite is equipped with a 32-inch monitor, generous open legroom and increased personal storage. A privacy divider allows the centre suites to be used either together or independently, offering flexibility for couples travelling together while still maintaining individual space.
Beyond seating, the “Ocean Blue” concept places strong emphasis on inflight entertainment and connectivity. All classes will be fitted with state-of-the-art 4K touchscreens, and free high-speed internet powered by Starlink will be available throughout the aircraft. Reliable, fast connectivity is increasingly seen as a baseline expectation rather than a premium extra, particularly on long-haul routes.
The new cabin was designed with PriestmanGoode, the London-based studio behind many of today’s leading premium cabin environments.
With this retrofit programme, Discover Airlines positions itself more competitively within the long-haul leisure and hybrid travel segment, where expectations for business class have risen sharply in recent years. For passengers, the changes represent a meaningful upgrade – not just in terms of hardware, but in how the inflight experience supports comfort, sleep and overall wellbeing on long journeys.
