On the Radar: Aegean Lie-Flat Business Class

in Airlines, On the Radar
This week it was revealed that Aegean Airlines will take delivery of its first two long-haul aircraft in 2026, marking a new chapter for the Greek carrier. The airline will introduce the Airbus A321XLR to its fleet, retaining JetBlue’s original Mint cabin configuration and bringing lie-flat business class to Aegean for the first time.
Each aircraft will feature two front-row Studio suites with additional space and privacy, as well as 22 fully lie-flat business class seats. The aircraft are expected to launch new routes from Athens to Delhi and Mumbai from spring 2026.
Aegean currently operates 36 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, with a further 24 on order for delivery by 2032, expanding the fleet to 60 aircraft including the XLR variants.
Sleepflyer Takeaway
After ITA Airways raised the bar with its new long-haul cabin, Aegean’s move into lie-flat business is another positive step for European carriers. A smart, strategic upgrade — and welcome news for travelers who value comfort.
On the Radar is Sleepflyer’s space for early announcements from the worlds of aviation and hospitality. Detailed coverage may follow.
