NetJets accelerates fleet, infrastructure and connectivity strategy with Global 8000 debut, Augusta investment and Starlink rollout

NetJets is entering a new phase of growth and product evolution, marked by the arrival of its flagship Bombardier Global 8000, a major infrastructure investment in Augusta, and a fleet-wide connectivity upgrade through Starlink. Together, these developments point to a clear strategic direction: faster aircraft, deeper destination integration, and a fully connected onboard experience.
At the centre of this evolution is the introduction of the Bombardier Global 8000, with NetJets becoming the first operator to introduce the aircraft into active service. The aircraft is now the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde, with a top speed of Mach 0.95 (627 mph). During flight testing, it even exceeded the sound barrier, reaching Mach 1.015. Range is equally transformative. With a capability of up to 8000 nautical miles, or close to 17 hours nonstop, the Global 8000 significantly expands the scope of ultra-long-haul private travel. Routes such as Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, and London to Perth can now be operated nonstop, reducing travel time and increasing flexibility for NetJets Owners.
Inside the cabin, the Global 8000 reflects a growing emphasis on passenger wellbeing in private aviation. The approximately 55-foot interior is among the longest in its class and can accommodate up to 19 passengers, though it is typically configured for eight to 12 for a more residential layout. Fully reclining Nuage seats are designed to improve circulation and reduce fatigue, while a low cabin altitude of 2691 feet at cruising level helps minimise the physical impact of long-haul travel. Features such as Bombardier’s Pũr Air system and circadian lighting further support rest and reduce jet lag.
The first aircraft delivery took place at Bombardier’s completion centre in Montreal, marking the beginning of a planned 24-aircraft Global 8000 fleet for NetJets. Existing Global 7500 aircraft will be upgraded to the new standard over time.
While the fleet evolves, NetJets is also investing on the ground. At Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia, construction is underway on a new dedicated terminal designed exclusively for NetJets Owners. The development includes a 432000-square-foot private ramp and a full-service facility expected to be operational in time for the 2026 edition of The Masters Tournament.
Alongside fleet and infrastructure expansion, connectivity is becoming a central pillar of the onboard experience. NetJets has entered a multi-year agreement with Starlink to equip approximately 600 aircraft with high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi by the end of 2026. Powered by SpaceX’s low-Earth orbit satellite network, the system will deliver speeds of up to 500 Mbps, enabling seamless video conferencing, streaming and real-time productivity at cruising altitude.
Taken together, these initiatives underline NetJets’ strategy to redefine the end-to-end private aviation experience. With the Global 8000 setting new benchmarks in speed and range, enhanced infrastructure in key destinations, and next-generation connectivity onboard, the operator is positioning itself at the forefront of a rapidly evolving market.
